Keen to know about the Exemptions for CSEET Exam

One of the best commerce professional courses, the Company Secretary course ensures a great future for students. Apart from other commerce courses like CA or CMA, the CS course provides more focus on the legal part related to the company. Along with the secretarial works, a CS should focus on various domains like financial, tax or legal system, and so on. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is a statutory body that offers the 3 years course. The diverse career opportunities of the course mark the students at the top of the corporate world. A Company Secretary can work as part of a company as well as practice independently.

Contrary to the old syllabus, the Foundation level is changed into the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) from 2020. Now the students after their twelfth compulsorily crack the entrance test. The Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET), however, is an online test that lasts 135 minutes. The entrance test is conducted 4 times a year, in May, June, November, and January. Leading the students into the prestigious and powerful profession, the course syllabus is designed as;

  • CSEET
  • Executive level
  • Professional level

With the 2020 amendment, certain students can join the CS Executive without qualifying CSEET.

UG/PG Students: The graduates and postgraduate students of recognized universities can get direct admission to CS Executive Programme. The exemption of UG/PG students from CSEET was decided by the Institute at its 277th meeting that was held on June 19, 2021.

CS Foundation: The students who qualified for CS Foundation as per the previous syllabus are exempted from the CSEET examination.

CA Final: Students who have completed the final course of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

CMA Final: Students who have completed the final course of the Institute of Cost Accountants in India
